I’ve been itching to make this place feel a little festive this season but with all the projects going on around here it just didn’t seem worth it. But, last weekend we made good progress on the baby’s room which meant that the baby gear all over the house got put away. So I decided to fall-ify a tiny bit, in the simplest way possible.
I love bringing the outdoors in – it’s one of my favorite ways to decorate, so I did just that. I added a place mat to the center of our dining table and topped it with a wood tray. I prefer using patterned/textured place mats in place of table runners as they’re less bulky looking on our table.
I added a gold vase filled with some twigs and scattered mini pumpkins around it. On each side are the candles that are always on the table.
At first I felt like it was too plain and too simple, but after a few days I realized that I really love it. It was exactly what I wanted to bring in a little seasonal decor. Best part of decor on a tray – you can easily pick it up and move it out of the way in one swoop if needed.
Are you guys incorporating any fall decor this season? I’ve never been a big Halloween decorator but I love seeing the creative decor this time of year!
