If you just want one easy project to do this season this is the one. Great for all ages, simple, inexpensive.
You can choose whatever type of ornaments you want. I chose a few that were inexpensive – $2 for 4 small ornaments. I was making them for a seven-year old so I chose smaller, less fancy ornaments.
Start by choosing paint colors. Her favorite colors are pink and purple so that’s what I used. I mixed acrylic paint with about a teaspoon of water in a jar. The water just makes the paint a tad thinner and easier to drip dry.
Simply dip each ornament in the paint, varying how far each one is dipped. I hung them to dry on the lower pole of our drying rack and placed a sheet of paper underneath for them to drip on. They came out really cute and like I said they were so easy to make. The snowflake one isn’t my favorite as it didn’t cover well because of all the lines in it and I didn’t dip it into the paint nearly far enough.
I can see using more sophisticated colors too, for gifting to adults. This is also a great project to get children involved in. They could make them for their friends or teachers or cousins, etc.
