When we set out to design this kitchen we knew we wanted to keep the big things pretty neutral. While it’s fun to customize things with colorful cabinets and tile and flooring it’s also risky for re-sale and really just because design trends become outdated so quickly.
So we kept fairly neutral for the cabinets, tile, counters and flooring and plan to incorporate colorful accents in the form of lighting, bar stools, scatter rugs, decor, etc.
Here’s where we landed with our inspiration for this room:
We wanted to incorporate a variety of color without it being too much. This fabric did just that – small scale print, but a handful of different colors, so not too busy. We plan to pull a few of those colors out for other accents and decor.
Right now I’m on the hunt for an antique pendant light for over the sink and I just can’t find one that fits. I have no plans to rush it though because I want to be sure it’s something we love.
Did I mention we’ll have a dishwasher soon?
