I figured since we just rounded the corner to nine months it was about time I shared Louie’s room with you! When this kid decided to arrive five weeks early he had a mattress leaning against the wall in his room, no rug, no wall art, nothing. We had just recently put the crib together and built the changing table.
I wanted the vibe in his room to be modern, with some color while still being fairly minimalistic. And I have to say, to date it is my most favorite room I’ve ever decorated.
Al built the changing table to fit the narrow space we had for it. We have a built in dresser and a huge closet in his room so I wanted something that could double as a book shelf.
I made the string art above the changing table, the mobile and the mountain hooks. The arrows were hand made in Idaho which we bought on our road trip last year. The curtain was two shower curtains I grabbed at target and altered to fit his closet and the rug was from Flor – the style was actually called Louie’s Backyard (!) on their site and I just altered the design and color scheme a bit.
I love the way this room came together. It was a work in progress and it was hard to get it done in those early weeks/months with a preemie but I’m so glad we did because it’s so serene and I love spending time in there. And we’ve all spent many a days and nights in that room!
