It’s taken me until about last weekend to get into the holiday spirit. I’m not sure what the hold up was because usually by the weekend after Thanksgiving I’m roaring to go and get the house decorated. I think it’s partly because I’ve been feeling a little closed in around our house. It’s just such small and tiny space that the thought of a large tree in the house was making me a little nauseous.
So we decided to down size our tree a bit. We decided to go with something cute and tiny instead. Something that would fit in the trunk of the car…
We were able to prop it up on this chest in our living room…and hope we need nothing in that chest for the next few weeks!
After stringing some lights on it and a few ornament we had we were satisfied. Enough spirit with out the claustrophobia.
When space is an issue there are plenty of other options for a Christmas tree. Like this one from one of last year’s posts.
Some other options to replicate a Christmas tree in your home:
String lights heavily around a tomato cage.
A pom pom garland tree (I LOVE this!):
A simple, beautiful rosemary tree:
In one of my college dorm room’s I created a similar idea to the pom-pom tree only I used a long strand of colored lights. Using push pins (being sure not to puncture the wires) I made the shape of a tree. It was really cute. I wish I had a photo of it!
Any other ideas for alternative Christmas trees from you guys?
