Last week I took a quick trip to Seattle. I’d never been before and I loved it! Since I didn’t get my act together to get the post out on Friday I thought I’d do a photo recap today. I was visiting with a friend and our trip was suddenly cut short when we learned that there had been a fire in her home. So while we only ended up having one day in the city we tried to explore and make the best of it.
One thing I’m sure about is that I’m definitely going back with Al. It was such a cool city and I think he’d love it too. I loved the marketplace with all the produce, fresh flowers and fish markets. The beach was amazing and I was entirely fascinated by the view from the plane. Look at those mountains! Flat Stanley also made the trip. He had a blast, except for at the beach where it was freezing and windy. Enjoy!
Have you guys been to Seattle? Have any great suggestions of things to do/fun to have there? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Wow, Flat Stanley made the trip, what a flash back, I remember bringing him on vacation. Keep up the good work.

I know it! I’ve taken a variety of Stan’s all over the country for many different kids. I love when kids ask to send him to me!

Seattle rules! Take the ferry to Bainbridge Island for a few hours of exploring — great views of the city from the water as well (& the return trip back into the city is free!). And go eat at Taylor Shellfish at Melrose Market in Cap Hill/First Hill! And go visit my aunt? She’s awesome.

Peter! This is awesome, thank you! The only thing I’m actually going to do is visit your aunt. Joking, I’m doing all these things the next time I go back AND I’m visiting your aunt!

Been there, love seatttle, The space needle is cool and below is a chihuly exhibit that is excellent as well. There is also the wall of gum, under the market…hard to find, and more of an alley way of chewed gum…gross but unique! Tons of great hiking in the area and the neighborhoods are neat, though I only know those from when I travelled to visit donors when I did fundraising….

Thanks Gretchen! I love Chihuly, and we did walk past it, but didn’t visit. Next time! And I’m totally going to see the wall of gum.
