I “made” this dress, but in all honesty I bought the fabric that’s basically already a dress and sewed it to the right measurements. It was super easy and a great little summer dress though, and my gosh so cute.
You can find this fabric at pretty much any fabric store, usually either in the kids fabric section or the apparel section.
I only needed the measurements for around the body (kind of right under the armpits on a kid) and the length from armpits to knees (or wherever you want the length to be).
With those measurements I then cut to size, pinned up the back and sewed it in one straight line. After that I hemmed it to the right length.
I think it took me a total of 20 minutes to make and look at that sweet love wearing it. Always with the hands questioning things. Such a sweet girl.
Not to fool you though, she also has an I’m a toddler attitude and in this photo she’s likely saying, “who you think you taking pics of lady,” while her dress falls down a little. And she uses a walking cane?
Can’t wait to make more of these. They also make great, inexpensive gifts for kiddos and there are so many fabrics to choose from!

Very cute. I may need to make some for Lily. Or maybe teach her Mom how to sew a seam. ?
