We got engaged and married within five months. Like 100 people asked me if I was pregnant which is entirely rude, by the way. And FYI, I wasn’t. When it came to engagement photos I knew that I didn’t want to spend a fortune on them and would rather invest in our wedding photographer.
So since I do have a degree in photography and I’m a hardcore DIYer we decided why not just do them ourselves. They were not fancy at all. They were taken in the park that was next to the apartment we were living in at the time.
We set out with the camera, tripod and smiles ready to go. I didn’t even have a remote for the camera, I just used the self timer settings.
It was freezing and I wanted these done within the hour. We goofed off and had fun while shooting them, which made it a lot easier and more natural. We just used what was around us – sat on the grass, a bench, stood near trees, etc.
Were they perfect? No. Were they decent photos that showed our happiness and excitement to be getting married? Yes!
