Things look a little different around here, eh?! The last 20 months have been wild for the obvious and not so obvious reasons. In addition to a global pandemic we also:
- moved our family cross country to a new home
- experienced a devastating tornado to our community
- bought a second house
- fixed up and sold the first house
- dealt with two fallen trees (one on the house, one not on the house but blew most of our electrical), a flooded basement and host of other house issues
- had appendicitis
- had a horrible school situation
- survived a severe medical emergency with our oldest
At the beginning of 2020 we had just moved and I was feeling pulled away from my space here. I couldn’t quite identify why, but figured it was just stress and anxiety of uprooting our lives and struggling to settle in to our new home. I took a step back, didn’t write, and reflected a lot. Around March 2020 I realized that I wanted to shift my focus to supporting working moms.
Annnndd BOOM pandemic.
Like everyone else in the world our lives were turned upside down as dual career parents. That’s a story for another day, but all of this got pushed aside. However, I never stopped thinking, brainstorming and confirming my passion for a helpful space for working moms.
In July 2020, a glitch with my website hosting company resulted in my losing the Everyday Originals domain and that was exactly the push I needed.
I am so excited to bring you this space. I have a lot to share and I’m sharing for two reasons:
- to help you
- to help me
Being a mom is the hardest thing I’ve ever done – add in there a career that I’m working hard at and it’s another whole level of hard. This space is accountability for me and my hope, helpful for you.
I’m excited to share a few posts a week, engage on social media and hear from you, if there’s anything you’d like to see. And the archives are still here – the nearly 10 years of content from Everyday Originals still lives right here on the site.
You can learn more about me here and I invite you to subscribe to my weekly newsletter, on the right sidebar, to receive posts right to your inbox.
Thanks for being here – and as always – feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to connect!
