To jog your memory, ages ago, I shared Louie’s nursery. I’m taking this week to share all the smaller projects we did in there since I made that promise oh, 6 months ago or so.
We kept it simple and added just a few wall hangings that I made to add some color and texture. This was such an easy project and since they day we brought Louie home he has loved looking at these over his changing table.
I grabbed a few different sized quilting rings and separated the inside piece from the outer so I had double the number of circles.
The string I used was found in the dollar bins at Target – not intentionally they just happen to have the exact color scheme I was going for. So all in this project was about $15.
I started by tying the string around the ring and knotting it. I then went to town wrapping the string in all different directions. To finish I tied a knot around the ring again and snipped the end of the string.
Once I had them finished I played around with the layout and settled on this one. I love the ease, the cost and the pop of color against the neutral walls. And I never would have thought he would be so fascinated by them but in those early, fussy months with this kiddo we would bring him to the changing table and he would calm right down.
Double win for cute wall art and the ability to quiet the kid!
