successful wall hangings

February 4, 2010 by Lindsey 2 Comments

One of the most frustrating things for a lot of people can be hanging wall hangings. I kind of hate it. But there are ways to make it much easier and make things hang much straighter, with a lot less holes in the wall.

Simply take some scrap paper or paper bags and cut out a piece the exact size of your frame that you are hanging. Using painters tape (that blue tape that doesn’t ruin the walls) tape up your sheet of paper and easily move it around until you find the perfect spot. (Please pardon the google photo, I left the one I had at home and I’m in Mexicooooo!)

I used the trick in my hallway to hang this cluster of photos:

It made the process much smoother and much faster. You could use the technique with really anything you’re hanging up, just cut to size and move it around. Anyone have any other tips for dealing with wall hangings? Definitely share them!
